CHAPTER THREE CORE 3000

The weekend is here!!!! Hooray! I wrote this on Saturday I didn't post it till today. I hope you enjoy chapter three!! Again, this is not edited in any way shape or form. Enjoy!!

Thrist drifted in and out of consciousness for the next few days. It was a full week until he could get out of bed without suffering terrible pain. His head still ached numbly, three of his ribs were broken, and his wrist was broken. He couldn’t remember really what happened but he knew he had woken up sometime before any of the two ladies had found him. He remembered that someone had beaten him up or something. But now that he was able to be out of bed he was eager to get outside.

Over the past week, Thrist  has grown to like Breeze, she had a carefree manner that was very charming. Thrist knew that Breeze liked him, even though they had not talked much. He walked out to the pasture and patted one of the horses. He longed to be home and see his sister and mother. He wouldn’t mind not seeing his aunt. As soon as he could he would get back to them. But what of the Man-In-Black? He knew now that what Maggie had said was true. Or partially true. He didn’t want to worry about it, but deep down and inside he knew it was something to worry about.

“Hullo.” Thrist drew in a quick breath and then let it out in a long sigh when he saw it was just Breeze.

Thrist cleared his throat. “Hi.” He shifted his weight to the other side, uncomfortable. He didn’t do good with talking to people he was fond of, that was probably why he was single. He shifted again.

“You're uncomfortable with me.” Breeze giggled.

“What? Nah.” Thrist smiled awkwardly.

“Oh don’t be silly. It’s fine, you barely even know me. But you are going to be staying here for a while. So there’s no reason to keep avoiding me.” Breeze said teasingly. She motioned to Thrist to follow her. “Here, I want to show you something.” She started walking towards a small grove of trees. They walked all the way there without talking the whole way. At this point Thrist was feeling out of place with this nice girl. He barely knew her and yet she was showing him something like he was a friend. But he also felt comfortable. He felt a warmth growing in his chest that he had never felt before. “Over here!” Her blond curls bobbed as she walked over to a bunch of huge bushes. She pushed one back to reveal a beautiful valley, totally hidden by trees and bushes and vines.

“Wow. This is amazing! How did you find this place?” Thrist started walking into it transfixed by the valley.

“The wind showed it to me.” Thrist cocked his eyebrow. “I’m special. I have more than one power… the wind told me that you do too.” Thrist didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know if it was true but if the wind told Breeze that then it must be true.

“Well, if the wind told you that… it must be true.” He said, echoing his own thoughts.

“I suppose.” Breeze started giggling. She couldn’t be serious for one minute, could she? Thrist smiled as he watched Breeze break into laughter.

“What’s so funny?” Breeze laughed harder, when Thrist asked this.

“You are! You sounded so serious when you said that. You sounded like a-an old man!” Breeze laughed so hard she had to sit down. Thrist just stood there and watched, smiling the whole time. He didn’t know what to do.

“Have you, um, mastered your abilities?” Thrist thought if she had maybe she could help him with his. He hadn’t even known he had them until now. He just knew he had a unique power, not multiple.

“Yes. You could say I have...I never got your name.” Breeze sighed, finally done with her laughing fit.

“Oh! Uh, my name is Thrist. Thrist LeGray. And you are Breeze.” He held out his hand, and she shook it.

“The pleasure is mine, mister LeGray.” And then she started laughing again.

~One week later~

The black void of the night sky was dark and starless. Thrist struggled to stay awake. A figure in a black cloak tries to grab him, he runs, his family is calling out to him. He needs to get to them before the cloaked figure. Now it’s a race for his family. Suddenly, it’s not just his family, it’s his town, and then Breezes family with his town and then people he doesn’t know. The crowd keeps growing and growing, they all call out to him. If he doesn’t get to them before the cloaked person or thing they will all become consumed in its darkness. The calling fades and now Thrist is falling. He is falling into the dark void of the night sky. Falling up. A hand grabs his pulling him. Trying to help. He looks up. It’s Breeze.

“Let go!” He calls. “Save yourself! If I die then our people need someone to save them. This is what you have to do! Let go!” He is falling again.

Thrist!” Thrist jolted awake. Sweat beaded his forehead. He sighed when he realized it was just a dream. “Are you ok?” Breeze stood in the doorway, a distressed expression on her face.

“Y-yes, it was that nightmare again.” Breeze sighed and bit her lip. Then she motioned for Thrist to follow as she turned to walk out of the room. Thrist got up and put his jacket on, even though he knew he would not need it. The wind had gone to the mountains. Now there was a soft gust every now and then, coming off the ocean. Breeze stepped outside and Thirst followed.

“So, tell me about your dream.” Breeze smiled and started walking down the path towards the pasture. Thrist told her the whole thing, and that he always woke up before it ended. He didn’t know if he died or not. “Sounds like more of a vision. My grandfather used to have them, they would tell him things. It led him to being a great warrior. I think that your dream is trying to tell you something, for instance, have you ever thought about who the cloaked figure is? And what are the people saying when they're calling out to you?” Breeze started skipping and Thrist had to walk fast to keep up.

“No, I never thought about that stuff… You think it is a vision?” Thrist pushed open the gate to the pasture and they walked in.

“I really do. Let’s go to the valley to talk more.” Thrist nodded his head and they continued in silence until they reached the clearing in the grove. It was a clear night and the moon was full. Thrist felt the warm sensation again and he tried not to look at Breeze. She was so beautiful in her flowing white dress and her blond curls. Her eyes were a deep blue-green that looked like the ocean in summertime, and she had the softest smile.

Don’t be silly! She’s too good for you! Thrist thought to himself. He glanced at Breeze only to see her staring at him. Suddenly Breeze was close. A little to close.

“Breeze I-” She leaned in, her lips brushing his. Her hands crept into his hair and she deepened the kiss. Thrist was caught off guard. He stood there numbly for a second. Then he realized what was happening and his arms drew around her. The sweet taste of her lips was like candy. He pulled away, and looked into her deep blue  eyes. They stared back into his. “Breeze.” He said again.

“I-I’m sorry.” She looked down. “I didn’t mean to...I-”

“It’s ok Breeze.” He tipped her chin up and smiled. She smiled back and then that continued walking, hand in hand.
